What are Widescreen & Largescreen TVs?Widescreen Televisions display pictures in the 16:9 aspect ratio, the format that movies are filmed in. They also have the ability to show programmes in the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio. Widescreen Televisions generally have at least a 32 inch screen and are available in CRT, plasma and LCD versions. CRT Widescreen Televisions have flat screens due to the now standard flat square Cathode Ray Tubes used. Many new models have a Pure Flat Tube fitted, giving the TV a distinctive appearance. The extra flat screen allows you to view from a wider angle without losing picture quality. Large Screen Televisions are generally the biggest conventional CRT TVs on the market.
