When buying your ideal TV, DVD and Home Cinema set up, it's a good idea to invest in a TV stand or cabinet to house it and make an attractive and practical centrepiece to your room. On a practical basis, ordering your cabinet at the same time as your other equipment will allow you to get your system up and running faster.

You may prefer to buy what's known as an “open cabinet”. Open cabinets are TV stands which, unlike the traditional furniture TV cabinets, have open shelves so that you can store your equipment whilst still being able to get easy access to the wires and back of your television when you need to. The California TV Entertainment Unit, available from Argos , is suitable for televisions up to 28”. It has three internal shelves, one of which is glass, and a drawer for DVD and video storage.

Television Cabinets – Avebury Entertainment Unit

The Avebury Entertainment Unit is a modern and stylish cabinet, which can hold your television, video, DVD player and other entertainment equipment. It's suitable for televisions with screens measuring up to 28” and is available from Argos.

The unit has a silver tubular frame and glass shelves, and has a frosted glass top.

The dimensions of the Avebury Entertainment Unit are: Height 70.5cm x Width 100cm x Depth 50cm.

Television Cabinets - Maharani Corner TV Cabinet

The Maharani TV Cabinet is based on traditional Indian Thakat styling which combines quality Sheesham wood and iron fittings. Each unit is hand finished for the individual look. The unit is part of a range of furniture.

The dimensions of the Maharani Corner TV Cabinet are: Height 55cm x Width 90cm x Depth 50cm.

Television Cabinets - Strata TV Unit

The Strata TV Unit has a contemporary style and is available in walnut, oak, maple, bitter chocolate or cherrywood. It has sand blasted doors which close on a protective bumper pad.

It has one shelf and a storage drawer which is partially racked so that you can store your DVDs and videos easily. . The Strata TV Unit has a hole in the back panel for cabling and ventilation.

Television Cabinets - Apartment Entertainment Bench

The Apartment Entertainment Bench is made from dark melia ash solids and veneers, giving it an elegant dark chocolate finish. All pieces have double dowelled joints with the feature panels and table tops featuring a crushed bamboo set in resin finish.

Two central drawers have removable dividers for DVD and Video storage and there are ventilation and cabling slots at the rear of the unit. You can also buy other furniture from the same range to match.

Television Cabinets - Prairie Corner TV Stand

The styling of the Prairie Corner TV Stand is inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th Century. The fruitwood unit is stained and lacquered for protection and is finished with wax. The unit has four storage drawers for DVDs and videos with cable access at the back.

The Bergerac TV Cabinet is made exclusively for John Lewis from solid French oak and features a distressed finish to create the impression of age and use. No two pieces are alike due to the drying and ageing process employed in the crafting of the cabinet.
