Roadstar was created in Chiasso in Switzerland in 1976 and originally produces electronic entertainment products such as car hi-fis throughout Switzerland and Italy. However, Roadstar soon expanded across Europe.

In the early 1980's Roadstar increased the range of products that it was distributing to include audio and video products. The company then became one of the fore-runners of the car mobile phone market and has recently expanded once again, this time to incorporate its new range of electrical products for home and outdoor use. Roadstar is now part of the Alba Group.
