Ferguson Televisions

Brands of Television - Ferguson Televisions

Ferguson is one of the oldest manufacturers of televisions, starting off as Ferguson Radio Corporation in Enfield, North London. The company was taken over by Thorn Electrical Industries in 1936.

Although the company initially produced radios, by the 1950s Ferguson was a market-leader in televisions, concentrating on providing value for money and using the strap-line “Fine sets those Ferguson's” in their adverts.

In 1979, Thorn Electricals merged with EMI to become Thom EMI and eight years later Thorn EMI later sold the Ferguson brand to the French electronics company Thomson.

There are a number of Ferguson-branded televisions that are widely available online today. The current Ferguson range of televisions includes traditional CRT televisions, LCD televisions, TV, Video and DVD combis, and Digital and Freeview set-top boxes.
